Translanguaging allows the opportunity for my multilingual learners to access their full linguistic repertoire while making connections and meaning during our learning engagements. With a classroom full of 20 knowledgable multilingual learners, my goal this year is to implement more opportunities for my students to use their home language while engaging with content and language standards and objectives. Translanguaging strategies can help my students gain a deeper understanding of the languages in use and the content. Our classroom strives to promote inclusivity and students practice being open-minded by learning new languages and about different cultures around the world.
